Not every pain in the chest is a heart attack, and not every heart attack feels the way films show it. Doctors take chest pain seriously when it comes with pressure or heaviness, spreads to the left arm, jaw, neck or back, or arrives with sudden sweating, breathlessness or fainting.
If you or someone near you has these signs, do not wait. Keep the person calm and seated, do not let them drive, and call for help immediately.
